Abi Concannon is an organisational consultant, executive coach and leadership development specialist with over twenty years’ experience working with senior leaders, executive teams and boards in complex, high pressure environments.

She is:

She is particularly sought out during moments of crisis, conflict and organisational strain, when relationships are under pressure, confidence is fragile and clarity is difficult to sustain. Her work focuses on helping leaders and organisations understand what is really happening, stabilise relationships and think well together, enabling thoughtful, ethical and effective leadership under real world conditions.

Abi works extensively across health and social care, charities and public service organisations, often when familiar strategies have failed to shift entrenched patterns. As a Principal Consultant with Shaw Concannon Consultants, she designs and delivers senior leadership development, executive and team coaching, and bespoke organisational interventions, including sustained work with executive teams, senior triumvirates and divisional leaders in large NHS Acute Trusts.

Alongside her consultancy work, Abi maintains a small private clinical practice, supporting professionals working under sustained emotional, relational and ethical pressure. This experience informs her authoritative, relationally attuned approach to leadership work, particularly in contexts of crisis, grievance and organisational turbulence.

Abi has held senior system leadership roles within the NHS, including Service Director for the Keeping Well North Central London Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub and Clinical Service Lead for Adult Complex Services at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She has also taught and held faculty roles on leadership and organisational programmes at the University of Birmingham, the University of Essex and the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
